Delph Band was formed in 1850 and has had many ups and downs. In the early years the band led a fairly nomadic existence, wound up and reformed on several occasions. The playing standard of the band has been variable, but is now firmly established in the second section. Rehearsal rooms have included printers shop, the bell inn and Wesleyan chapel with a proviso the band play when required. The band used Delph mechanics institute before move 1954 to its headquarters in Lawton square. Many contest successes including North West champions, Manchester District champions, Pontins and Butlins victories, the First Saddleworth Band to have won the National Championship of Great Britain. The Band has been involved with several prestigious engagements including; Commonwealth games, a Concert for Prince Edward and TV appearances in Brassed Off and Coronation Street. The band currently has a thriving youth band to secure future of the main band.

Formed in 1977 (Silver Jubilee Year) the band originally consisted entirely of serving police officers. Today, everyone is welcome to join this non-contesting band which rehearses every Wednesday evening at Kent Police Headquarters in Maidstone. A friendly, traditional band which wears a traditional 'Dixon of Dock Green' style uniform.

Lewis-Merthyr has represented Wales in the Championship section on eight occasions at the Royal Albert Hall, London, and at the European Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. The band has also won the Second and Third Section UK titles at the National Championships of Great Britain. Lewis-Merthyr is currently ranked in the First Section and were 2015 Runner-Up WWBBA Champions; 2016 Runner-Up SEWBBA Champions and overall Runner-Up Welsh League Champions in both 2015 & 2016. 2017 was a particularly successful year for the band and saw Lewis-Merthyr become the current WWBBA and - for the first time in 21 years - overall Welsh League First Section Champions.

The Long Eaton Silver Prize Band is a friendly community based brass band organisation, comprising of three groups (our senior and training bands and a beginners’ group) totalling 88 players, which promotes and encourages live music within the borough of Erewash and the surrounding areas.

 

Founded in the 1860s as the Long Eaton Temperance Band, the band left the temperance society in 1906 to reform as the Long Eaton Silver Band, adding Prize to its title after it first contest success in 1908. After over 150 years, our primary objective remains to encourage and provide opportunities for people all ages to play or learn a musical instrument, targeting young and disadvantaged groups (although we no longer insist on alcohol abstention for the adults!).

 

We raise musical and cultural awareness through a variety of local concerts, charitable events and contests. The senior band currently contests in the third section where we were Midlands Area and National Champions in 2006.

Long Melford Silver Band is a traditional brass band, which has been in existence in Long Melford, Suffolk, since 1890 – over 125 years.

Long Melford Silver Band is a community band formed of local amateur players and does not compete in competition currently. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings and love to welcome new beginners and experienced players alike.

The band has a comprehensive library of music to suit most occasions and tastes, and is generally available throughout the year to provide music for Concerts, Fetes, Weddings, Bandstands, Parks etc

Formed in 1911 the Maltby Miners Welfare Band is still going strong after more than 100 years.  The band is based in Maltby, a town six miles from Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

We are a very active concert and contest band and over the years have built up a good reputation within the local community. We are active as both a contesting band and a concert band, performing mainly  in South Yorkshire and the surrounding counties at Galas and fetes, park bandstands, castles and stately homes, village halls and churches and regularly at the Rotherham Civic Theatre.

At present we are 4thsection Yorkshire Champions and will be representing Yorkshire at the national finals in September. This also means that we will be promoted back into the 3rdsection in 2020! We were last Yorkshire champions (4th) section 1999 and 2009.

Our long serving, now in his 35thyear with the band, Musical Director, Terry Clifford, is a skilled and experienced conductor.  His patience and good humour ensure enjoyable rehearsals, whilst his encyclopaedic musical knowledge and skills as a compere mean audience can always expect a well presented and pleasurable concert

Stannary Brass Band is based in Tavistock, Devon. It is a registered charity, a non-contesting band and provides teaching to all ages and abilities at no cost: this includes the loan of an instrument. Angela Rippon is an enthusiastic patron in her support. The band offers an activity for the whole family and has seen some younger members choose a music-based career. In 2020 we planned to celebrate our 25th anniversary but events and rehearsals had to be postponed. We raise funds for running expenses through performances and apply for grants for instruments, music, workshops and individual children’s bursaries.

Stretford Band is a community based band in Greater Manchester dating back to the 1840s.   Despite being a prize winning band of yesteryear, it now is a friendly non competitive band playing concerts to a high standard but with the main aim of sheer enjoyment of playing. The band rehearses on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and welcomes anyone to come along and play no matter what age, background or experience you have. The band is on Facebook and Twitter and invites you to come and hear us play. We have quite a collection of videos on YouTube.

Formed in 1976, a truly local band, it has experienced that roller coaster experience we call brass banding. Currently rebuilding itself, the band is a friendly hardworking and enthusiastic group of players. It has an Academy Brass and already youngsters are taking their place in the main band.

Towcester Studio Band, founded in 1910, is an active community orientated organisation that provides musical entertainment in Towcester & surrounding area. TSB promotes music making in our community and maintains close links to NMPAT, (Northants Music & Performing Arts Trust) and our local Sponne School. TSB provides opportunities for young and developing brass and percussion players to experience music making and to further develop their skills in a traditional Brass Band environment. A warm welcome is always assured in our own purpose built band-room.
